Estate Planning FAQs

FAQs

  • Why do you not include pricing for estate work on your website?

We know at Maguire Tedrick PLLC that every client coming through our door is unique.  While we mostly assist middle class New Yorkers with creating their estate plan, some individuals that come through our doors are certainly more well off than others.  Because of this, our pricing is based on a sliding scale.

Regardless, for all individuals our pricing is at a fair, competitive market rate.

  • What can I expect during an initial estate planning consultation?

During your initial consulation we will discuss your assets, your plans, and what my recommendation is for you moving forward.  No two peoples estate plans or goals are the same.

It is important to provide any prior documents you have already had created, and have an idea of your various assets values (approximate numbers are fine for an initial meeting).

  • Why do you bill at flat fees?

Rather than billing an hourly rate, all estate planning documents are billed at a flat rate per document rather than by the hour of time.

It can be very personal to discuss family dynamics in formulating an estate plan, and it is important that all information is discussed and that the client is clear on what they are getting out of their estate plan.  Therefore, however long the client needs to review or discuss potentialy scenarios is up to the client, and included in the pricing.
